What is more Offensive, the WWE or
our Government?
Is it any wonder that the WWE — with its walk-tall,
be-the-best, and play-to-win superstars — is a success? Or
that the Obama-led Congress — with its bow-down, be-humble,
and accept-America’s-decline playbook — has an approval
rating of only 20 percent? . . .

By Smearing the Tea Party, What
Exactly is the NAACP Advancing?
After dredging up a dozen objectionable posters from the
millions of people attending Tea Party rallies across the
country, the National Association for the Advancement of
Colored People---on the basis of these few placards---is
asking its members to sign a pledge to “repudiate racism
within the tea party.” . . . Instead of
hurling baseless smears and stirring racial animus, the
NAACP needs to carefully examine the ideas driving the Tea
Party and hold its own opposition up to scrutiny. . . .

A Sad Birthday for Thomas Jefferson. Co-authored with Marsha Enright. On a
spring day in 1743, a towering figure in our country’s
founding was born: Thomas Jefferson. His skillful hand
carved much of the character of America. Today, however,
what Jefferson so painstakingly crafted lies pulverized
almost to stone dust. Were he alive to celebrate his
birthday this April 13, instead of sipping champagne, he
might want to drown his sorrow in whiskey. What has happened
to the revolutionary ideas he penned on the parchment that
is the soul of America, the Declaration of Independence? How
many of today’s citizens—and elected officials—understand
the stirring proclamation that every person possesses
certain “unalienable rights,” among which are “life,
liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”? . . .

Henry Ford teaches Obama a
Lesson in Profit. Co-authored with Marsha Enright.
Addressing a
joint session of Congress on health care, President
Barack Obama reiterated his often-expressed aversion to the
profit motive: “[B]y avoiding some of the overhead that gets
eaten up at private [health insurance] companies by profits
and excessive costs and executive salaries, [the public
insurance option] could provide a good deal for consumers,
and would also keep pressure on private insurers to keep
their policies affordable and treat their customers better .
. .”
Is this true? Is profit wasteful, as Obama implies?
Does it lead to higher prices and lower value to consumers? Can the
government, unburdened by profit, do the same job as a private company, only
cheaper and better? To answer, let’s consider one business, one product, and
one profit-seeking man who lived at a time when the market operated largely
free of government subsidies, bailouts, regulations, taxation, and other
“progressive” intrusions. . . .

Can the Free Market Be
Saved Without Rand? Co-authored with Marsha Enright.
It’s been a year since Stephen Moore’s
article, “Atlas
Shrugged: from Fiction to Fact in 52 Years,”
seemed to ignite an explosion of interest in Ayn Rand. Sales
of this prescient novel tripled; two Rand biographies have
been selling like hotcakes; and references to her in the
media have skyrocketed. Yet, some free-market defenders
continue to repudiate her and her ideas, as they have for
decades. It used to be conservatives such as William F.
Buckley of National Review trashing “Atlas Shrugged;” now
the critics include libertarians, such as Heather Wilhelm of
the Illinois Public Policy Institute, who penned “Is
Ayn Rand Bad for the Market?”. But in their rush to
distance themselves from Rand, they succumb to a deadly
philosophic trap. . . .

Celebrating America: Many Reasons to
Honor Our Country.
I love America for being the
place where an upstart group of colonists, against all odds,
battled the most powerful empire in the world — and won —
all in the cause of liberty. . . .

Why
We MUST Invoke Our Individual Rights---Now. America today is a nation in trouble. The great fortress of liberty, the country of the most productive, prosperous, and happy people in the world, is now in grave danger. America is under siege by the Dark Side, the forces of statism, while its Knights of Liberty are disarmed, demoralized, and suffering near-fatal wounds.

Jefferson was Looking Out for You.
Each April 13, every American should raise a glass to toast
the farmer, architect, scholar, revolutionary and American
president born this date in 1743: Thomas Jefferson. One of
our greatest founding fathers, Jefferson lovingly crafted
much of the government and character of his precious gem,
America. He penned numerous documents extolling the
revolutionary ideas of his time, including the stirring
words on the parchment that is the soul of America, the
Declaration of Independence. Yet how many of our current
citizens –
and elected officials –
truly understand its meaning? . . .

The
Self-Help Guide to Living in a Free Society (As featured
on The Glenn Beck Show): Too
many Americans are losing the ability to take care of
themselves and are instead looking for the government to run
their lives for them . . . Too many Americans seem willing
to replace the life of the proud American eagle, flying
alone and free, with that of a hapless chicken penned in a
coop waiting to be fed. . . . To combat this affliction, we
need a "Self-Help Guide to Living in a Free
Society." It might read something like this . . .

Daniel
Boone vs. the Nanny State: Oct.
22 marks the anniversary of the birth of an American icon:
Daniel Boone. Born in 1734, this death-defying adventurer
axed his way through the Appalachian Mountains to settle
Kentucky and open the Western frontier. Stamped across his
rock-hard life is the trademark of America: the pioneer
spirit to cross new frontiers and control one's destiny.
Back then, America was formed to set people free to run
their own lives. Today, our vastly expanded Nanny State
looks after us. Is this a good thing? . . .

Universal
Healthcare Is What's Sicko. Michael
Moore says he made the film "Sicko" to
"ignite a fire for free, universal health care." .
. . People like Moore believe capitalism is the disease and
government takeover the cure for our health care ills. They
think people have a "right" to free health care
simply because they need it. If so, why stop at medicine?
Couldn't we claim the same "right" to other
necessities? Take food, for instance. What if the government
seized control of the food industry and fed us for free with
a new entitlement, "Foodcare"? . . .

The
NEW Declaration of Independence. It’s
time for all Americans to recall the ideals of our country
as expressed by Thomas Jefferson in the Declaration of
Independence. The following is a new version of the
Declaration, updated to reflect the current usurpations and
threats we face. It is an urgent call for our
representatives to fulfill the promise of America envisioned
by our Founders and for We, the People, to insist that they
do. . . .
